End of the HFCS Challenge
February 1, 2007 in HFCS Challenge
I wanted to post a little conclusion now that my 30-day challenge has ended. I haven’t made a mad rush to find any HFCS and injest it – however I did splurge on cookies in a meeting that I *think* only had sugar but I don’t know.
I find I feel better than I have in ages. The focus I put on fresh veggies has really been good. I ended up losing about 2 pounds and a couple percentage points of body fat during the 30 days. Nothing major but as I mentioned yesterday – I found I didn’t have to do a diet over haul to accomplish this chalenge.
I’m getting organized for February and will be back soon with the next month’s focus! If you discovered anything interesting about HFCS – please be sure to post it!
I try to avoid HFCS too, but I had a distressing realization in the bread aisle of the supermarket one day- every loaf of bread I looked at contained HFCS. I had become adept at avoiding the places I KNEW it lurked, but was really bummed to find it hiding out in my bread. What caused you to start avoiding it?

Willa – thanks for the comment! The primary reason I have been avoiding HFCS is b/c of the impact it has had on our country’s health. It upsets me to see so much of our population eating a diet that consists primarily of HFCS.
