Ahh sweet potatoes! They are probably my favorite vegetable. So flavorful, so many ways to prepare them, and so healthy! In Toronto we made a delicious batch of sweet potato gnocchi, then topped it with an indulgent Dolce Latte (a type of blue cheese) sauce. The champagne was certainly a great addition! This pasta dish was delicious! It had a nice spread of flavors and a lot of health benefits in the beans and chard as well. The only time consuming (but not hard!) element in this recipe is preparing the beans. You can do that in advance or used canned (rinse well) if desired. Don’t let the bean prep stop you from enjoying this great dish!

Though spring is not “fondue season” in the most technical sense, I personally feel every day of the year should qualify! One tradition that cannot be missed any time I travel to Toronto is to indulge in my friend’s delicious fondue. Brad is not very fond of cheese (I know, I know – its horrifying) – so I rarely make fondue at home. The positive side of that coin is that when I do get to indulge, it is a true treat! The final item from our fantastic Toronto Tapas Night makes its appearance! These were very darling little phyllo rolls, stuffed full of spinach and hints of blue cheese. Saturday we went to the Farmer’s Market at the SF Ferry Building. As I have mentioned before, I love this farmer’s market. It is truly an amazing event! I have several favorite vendors and finds I keep intending to post about, but first, I thought I would share a few photos from the final market in March. Welcome Spring – we even saw strawberries.
